I had the opportunity to attend 3 mass comm events this week. The first one I went to was on Monday night. It was a showing of the documentary Merchants of Doubt. I really enjoyed the documentary because it shed light on the negative side of public relations and encouraged you to think about the things you’re being told by the media. I also went to a lecture by Texas State alumna, Trisha Espinosa. But my favorite was a lecture by the managing editor of the National Geographic magazine, David Brindley. Brindley spoke about multi-platform storytelling and how National Geographic has succeeded at it. I also got to see David Brindley speak and he was awesome! He started out as an econ major and somehow ended up at National Geographic aka the coolest ever.

I really enjoyed David Brindley’s panel too! I’m glad he spoke about all platforms even though he works with print specifically.
