Hey there, everyone! I’m Nicole, a 22-year-old senior at the lovely Texas State. I actually didn’t know I wanted to go to Texas State until my friend told me about it senior year of high school. We came to visit and I fell in love with it, and have been here ever since. Originally, I’m from the north Dallas suburb of Frisco (so I usually just say Dallas when people ask). I’m a Journalism and Mass Communications major, with a minor in Psychology. I hope one day to work for Tumblr or Buzzfeed.
I am a social networking/blogging junkie, and love the idea of creating and customizing web sites, so that’s a main reason I’m taking this class. There’s always room for more learning, especially in this area since things change so much. Also, it’s a great skill to have and looks really good on a resume.
My most visited website and most used app on my phone has to be tumblr (follow me!) It’s a microblogging and social networking site that you can post multimedia onto your own tumblr page. I’m really into photography and art, so this is the perfect place if that’s your interest. Plus, there’s the snarky text posts and hilarious memes and gifs that show up on your dashboard. I strongly recommend you sign up for a tumblr. You can customize your page with a preexisting layout or tweak it up to fit you, or go make your own. It’s addicting and has very diverse content.

I go to Buzzfeed practically everyday. Working for them would be like a dream come true for me! It looks like such a fun office environment. As for Tumblr, I honestly have no idea how it works. I had to create one for Visual Comm my sophomore year and barely knew what I was doing.
I have family in Frisco!
And I spend probably too much of my life on Tumblr. It’s so addicting, and I love that you can make your dashboard fit everything you love.
Im so addicted to tumblr. I have no idea why reblogging pictures of cats & stupid text posts is entertaining, but it is. I love that tumblr is one of the only social media sites that lets you customize just about everything, even giving you the ability to code your blog. Its so user friendly.
