Greeting everyone!

My name is Chealsey Foradory, I’m 23, and like most of you I’m a Mass Communications major. I’m from an extremely small town that no one has heard of called Rockne, Texas. There is really only two things in Rockne, a church and a bar, which coincidentally are located in the same parking lot. I pretty much graduated and never looked back. Now, I work as a videographer and hope to pursue the radio scene after I graduate.

Dial-up Internet was cool and all but learning to code sounds pretty challenging too. I took this course as a resume builder and to challenege myself.

As for websites that I frequent…Tumblr. Tumblr’s content is amazing, and if you’re an avid Tumblr user like myself you know exactly what I’m talking about. Users can queue posts; this allows you to schedule posts. I also love how Tumblr is so user friendly. The site provides suggestion blogs (side bar feature) for you to follow that are based on the content that you search/blogs you follow. Another neat feature is that you can search through content based on category. Seeding through content has never been easier. Tumblr is constantly evolving as well as producing new features. Good job Tumblr.

Heres my search of the Video Music Awards so you can check out the interface. Notice that someone made a song out of the Miley Cyrus/Nicki Minaj Controversy. Listen here

I’m not too familiar with tumblr, but the content seems cool enough. Depending on what people are into. O.o I have seen some really weird stuff from my girlfriends and friends tumblr’s, but they follow some pretty gnarly people I guess.

Exactly! Tumblrs kinda what you make it. For instance I follow a lot of lifestyle and art blogs. So my dashboard (feed) is full of landscapes, skating, and interesting contemporary art. My friends friends content is completely One Direction (not into it).

I used Tumblr only for one of my classes. I never got the hang of it. I should have probably spent more time on it. It was fairly easy to use. I just did not get myself to go out of my way to use it. But I think I may give it another short now.

You should give it another shot! The thing with Tumblr is that when you first get one you have no content to look at/follow. So how do you actually get to the fun part? It really depends on what your hobbies are and what you’re into. I suggest following some random blogs and then from there it is easier to navigate to other blogs and scroll their content.

I’m obsessed with Tumblr and I’ve had mine for a really long time (since my sophomore year of hs.) I really like their archive feature because for me it’s like a digital diary where I can easily go back and see what my life was like a handful of years ago.

Hey Chealsey, I am not too familiar with Tumblr, but I know it is a very popular site. I made a Tumblr when I was taking FDOM , but I just kind of forgot about it. I really do like that this site always has interesting content though. Every time I get on twitter I see many tweets about a weird Tumblr posts. I think I will try to start using it again.

Well I can’t say that I’m from a small town… Fort Lauderdale Florida. The tri- county area I grew up in is home to tens of millions in dense population and I have never once visited tumblr. However collaboration is part of our major, and without different perspectives, we would suffer from a serious case of group think! How have you adjusted to a larger town like San Marcos? I know my adjustment to such SMALL towns has been difficult over these past two years.

I love tumblr also! I find it so inspirational and filled with creativity from people all over the world. I like to log on at night and have a nice cup of tea while I re-blog. I have to check out the post of Niki Minaj!
