I really enjoyed WebPub because I was finally able to really learn the fundamentals of coding and apply them to my own websites. I was kind of nervous at first since the only coding I had experienced was in FDOM, but after awhile I have become more confident in my skill level even though I am far from being a master coder.
My favorite assignment was project 2 with the HTML and CSS project. I feel like with that project I was able to show myself how much I knew and I could make a basic website almost completely from scratch. I definitely surprised myself with the finished product and was like wow I can code.
The biggest struggle I had in the class was with Bootstrap. I thought it would be easier since we were given templates and a codes for most of the page elements, but it proved to be the most challenging. Finding the right code and adding to it and changing it was definitely tedious and took time. I had problems with my carousel and various pictures on my site. I wish I had more time to really perfect it to a T, but I still liked my final product. I’m definitely amazed that I was able to create a site that looks super cool and has so many elements to it.
After this class I hope to continue learning and practicing code through workshops and maybe another class or two. I would love to continue working at it and be able to create beautiful sites that companies actually use. I also plan to work on my Bootstrap site and keep updating it to make it even better and maybe gain a following with it. I wish the class was longer or had a second part so that I could continue to learn and work with different coding programs like Bootstrap and WordPress.
