Coding has been in my life for about two years now. I haven’t actually done this kind of work since my sophomore year two years ago in Fundamentals of Digital Online Media (FDOM). Coding is like that significant other that you have an on/off relationship with-but you end up enjoy it. It’s really interesting where I am right now. Currently, I am coding for a class that’s a requirement for me to graduate from Texas State University, and I’m shadowing a graphics designer who build websites for local businesses in San Antonio.

I didn’t really have any expectations of this class, to be honest. I don’t really think much of expectations; it’s not that I don’t care or have a lack of interest, but I’ve never really held anything up to higher expectations because I will end up focusing more on my expectation rather than the experience. Things have changed. I’m opening my skills now to web development. It’s not the whole ‘make money by building sites’ scheme. No, I think WIX would probably take all my business-for now. My expectations now, are pretty high-but not from this class itself-no, I now have expectations on myself to create something so beautiful, so unique, and so difficult.

So this website that’s coming up in the next paragraph (spoiler alert) is something that I know took hours, took the skills of several professionals to create, but you know what? While it’s good to have goals and dreams, I want to make my goals become reality. Let me show you.

I’ve talked about this website a lot in class and Becks has even brought it up in an example of what different tags, ID’s, fonts, colors, multimedia, etc. can be integrated into CSS. I think you should go ahead and check out this link for yourself, if you have not seen it. Tell me Snow Fall is not cool, to say the least. (See what I did there?) It’s got several elements in HTML5 and CSS that it’s almost overwhelming using the inspection tool on any search engine. Here’s a screenshot of the website-which is almost an insult to your eyes, as opposed to clicking the underlined words above.

I think Snowfall has to be one of the coolest web designs around right now. It’s so sleek and so well done, visually and design-wise. I could only hope to do something half as good as Snowfall
