I had previously worked with coding in a class I took in high school, Digital Interactive Media (DIM). I personally found it very neat. I always loved using secret codes to make my MySpace page look unique and vibrant. It wasn’t until I took DIM that I realized I was working with html to do the job. I was responsible for creating a functioning website from the ground up using html and CSS as well. DIM was a lot like this class, Web Pub. However, I am learning a lot more about how to make things a lot more appealing to the eye in a simplistic yet intriguing way. There is a code for anything and everything. It’s a really useful skill.

As I was looking around for a website that really stood out to me, I stumbled upon http://eyeofthedog.com. While the colors don’t stand out too much, the site is visually appealing. I like the fact that every time you scroll down it has an interactive feel to it, which keeps one’s attention and makes one want to keep lurking around.Screen Shot 2016-02-12 at 7.02.08 PM

I agree with you! The most simple codes attract the eye! I checked out the linked; I really like how the page flows as you scroll. I’ve seen that feature appear in more websites recently.

MySpace is where I first discovered coding too! That’s cool that you got to gain experience in high school. That website looks super interesting. I’ll have to check it out.

I find it really fascinating that MySpace was the catalyst for what we’re doing today. If you think about it, we’ve been working with coding for years back in the days of have your ‘top friends’. Sure we would copy/paste stuff but it was a start. Look where we are now, right?

I had a chance to check out the website and the design is one worth learning. The way the screen moves with the scroll, the fading images when a link is click on and so much more. Just think people are always going to need a website to reach that audience that isn’t local, and Web Pub will polish our abilities to do so.

What you said about how there is a code for just about everything now, is absolutely correct. In this time where technology is taking over, gadgets that you may not even think twice about, have been coded somewhere in their software to make them do what they do.

I loved using codes for MySpace as well! It’s unbelievable that we were coding during that those days without even really knowing and understanding the concept. I really like that website. It does a well job in catching a reader’s eye by the style it uses.
