Honestly, I was afraid to click the register link for this class. I was always more of World Literature type of gal and computers and codes were never my thing … at least until now.
Dare I say that I found our first assignment fun and simple? Knock on wood.
I never knew how much art and creativity a few tags could produce let alone know what a “tag” was! Did I think these beautiful pages appeared out of thin air? For me, it was something that was never given a second look. It was pretty simple: I liked a page, I kept scrolling. I have so much appreciation now for all the effort that designers put into their well-thought-out masterpieces. Moving forward, I will never be able to leave an inspiring web page without hitting the “inspect” icon.
As I sit here clicking on blogs that I follow I have to come to realize that I have a style and preference. I like clean and organized pages that don’t scream at you for attention. Organized pictures, a simple font and neutral colors. This is what holds my attention.
The Craft is a collection of simplicity and neutrality.
I will start following The Craft Design too once I get a Tumblr. I like the photography pictures that are on the website. Photography is my college major.
Yes, you should! They always inspire me! Do you have a site for your work? I’d like to see some of your photos!
Here is my link that has some of my photos: https://magickthegathering.wordpress.com/
Not everyone has an eye for simplicity. Everything we see today is target to be visually appealing-from clothing, food, body images, etc., but sometimes less is more, you know? I like that you’re doing something different by just giving me information and not throwing ads or slideshows in my face. It’s like when you’re on a site and you see those ads at the bottom of a website that say something like ’10 most shocking selfies that were taken before their death’ or ‘The real reason why Leonardo NoOscar-o has not won an Academy Award’.
Ha! Exactly my friend! It’s overwhelming how we’re bombarded with a bunch of nonsense. It’s refreshing to know that there are others that feel the same way!
