I will be doing my bootstrap project on female comic book characters and feminist comic books. I think the emergence of feminist comic books and having strong female characters in comic books is so important and researching the history will be a lot of fun. Some of my favorite comics with female leads or feminist messages have been Bitch Planet, A-force, Tank Girl, Pretty Deadly, and The DC Bombshells.

My pages will be popular female illustrators and writers, popular female characters, the history of females in comic books, feminist comic books and where to find them, and a comparison of how men and women are portrayed in superhero movies and mainstream comics.
