Overall, coding is a lot easier than I expected it to be. I expected coding to be more math-intensive than it has been so far, and while I have no doubt that advanced coding does deal with more math, basic HTML and CSS has not been a hassle for me. I have had previous experience with HTML and CSS from Myspace and taking FDOM in spring 2015, but I wanted to learn more as web publishing is important to journalism.

A website I am really inspired by is Broadly, a news source from Vice Media that focuses on women’s interests. I love the simple, open and airy design of the website. The white layout truly allows the content to pop.

I’m jealous that you find CSS a breeze because it is something I feel like I may struggle with. I also love the color schemes of Broadly. The color pop and use of bold lettering really captures the eye.
