I don’t have a lot of experience coding outside of this class. I was introduced to html and css in FDOM, but only the very basics.
Before class started I was pretty nervous about how well I could handle the class. Now I am starting to the hang of building sites and styling my own website. I am pretty surprised how easy it has been to create everything we have done so far.
Unfortunately I don’t have a mac at home so its a little more frustrating working on my windows laptop. I have tried notepad++ and Fireftp but I am not a big fan of the program’s layouts. Plus I feel like its not as user friendly like the programs we use in class.
As for a site that I go to and like is USA Today. I am a journalism major so I visit a lot of news sites but I like some of the features on the news site.
I really like USA Today’s website layout and visuals for its visitors. They bigger graphics on the site with little text to keep the attention of the reader.
Another feature I like is their use of color, something they are known in print editions as well. They also have interactivity built within some stories and the different sections on the site.
