While this class has been a challenging one, I have definitely enjoyed the challenges that comes with building something from the ground up. I was nervous on the first day when I was the only student in our class who didn’t take FDOM, but I feel like the material was easy enough to work my way through. At first it did feel like a struggle to not have the basic coding skills that my peers did, but, as we spent more time practicing on our own, I was able to understand it better.

I really enjoyed building the websites from the ground up. I felt really cool (and nerdy) telling my friends that I was too busy coding to go have dinner. Some days I look back at my original website and laugh at myself for thinking it was so great when it was just a white background with some different sized text on it.

I hope to continue to practice coding. It has really helped me at my new job, because the website was originally built in Dreamweaver (gross, I know). Over the course of the semester, I have become more confident when editing my office’s website, even though we are now switching over to WordPress. The timing of our switch is actually awesome for me, because it is at the same time that we are working on our final project in this class. I have been able to learn more about WordPress for a grade and for money, so it really is a win-win.

That’s A Wrap
