For project 3, I plan to build a website for the Terry Scholars of Texas State student organization, an organization that consists of about 150 current students & of which I am currently an officer for. For those that do not know what/who the Terry Scholars are, we are a student organization comprised of students who are recipients of scholarships from The Terry Foundation. The scholarship is based off of academics, leadership & financial need. The foundation currently awards scholarships to students at 13 universities across the state of Texas, each university has it’s own student organization. The student organizations aim to give back through service projects & volunteer work, but also have fun too.
Plans for my 5 pages include:
- Home Page/About Us | overview of the student organization
- Events/Calendar | Overview of upcoming events, with additional info as needed.
- Photo Gallery | Photos from events
- Resources | Minutes from meetings, archive of newsletters, important links, downloadable forms
- Contact | Including contact information for the student org officers, the TXST/Terry points of contact & foundation contact info.
I feel like I have planned a good basis of a site for my student organization, with some balance between scholar information & general organization information. I hope to build a website that is helpful to scholars, but also can inform people of our organization.
