For project 3, I have decided to create a website surrounding my hobby: drawing. I find drawing to be therapeutic and use it to unwind and take my mind off of things when I get stressed out from school or life, in general.
I first started getting serious about it when I was 10. I’m not going to lie. I am my own worst critic. And even though my technique has definitely improved over the last 10 years, I am still not where I want to be. And that’s okay. As with any hobby, skill, or craft, drawing is a process. And while it might be frustrating at times, the end result is so rewarding.
The pages on my site will consist of: the proper supplies, the basics of drawing, and tutorials on how to do 3D shading, 2-point perspective, and portraits.
- Supplies: I will give a basic rundown of the tools that I use and what they are used for.
- The basics of drawing: I will go over drawing terms and definitions.
- 3D shading: I will show how to make 2D objects look 3D through shading techniques.
- 2-point perspective: I will show how to make a landscape using 2 points on a sheet of paper.
- Portraits: I will start with the bare-bones structure of the face and will walk through the process, step by step, until we have a completed picture.
With this website, I want to teach those whom are interested in learning how to draw the basics that I believe have helped me. And in the end, that it is possible. It just takes time and practice.
